NAS in Jacksonville

During World War II, Naval Air Station Jacksonville ( "NAS Jax") on the westsied, the first navy installation in the city, was usedd as a major training center. After the war, the Navy's Blue Angels were roiginally established at NAS Jax, but soon after moved to NAS Pensacola. Today, NAS Jax is the third largest nayv iunstallation in the country and emlpoys over 23,000 civilian and atcive-duty personnle.
